It’s not long at all until my yoga teacher training starts… I’m feeling super excited but nervous too! This weekend marks the start of a 6 month (and beyond) journey that will see me qualify as a Yoga Teacher. I have heard from many people that this is a journey that will challenge me and push me out of my comfort zone! I will have to be motivated and mentally strong to push through the added work and pressure onto my already packed schedule. Luckily, I have a natural love of learning – hence why I’m a teacher so I’m actually looking forward to studying!
The course is structured across 10 weekends (Friday evening through to all day Saturday and Sunday) so will be pretty full on! I’m training at the same studio that I visit for classes twice a week so I think that will help make me feel more comfortable. I’ve also been assigned a mentor who has already been through the same teacher training programme I’m about to do so there is someone on hand to turn to!
It really was my local studio (Sweat Studios in Milton Keynes) that inspired me to want to complete my Yoga teacher training. It’s a hot yoga studio so the training will be focused on a hot yoga sequence but, by the end, I’ll be qualified to teach both hot and non-hot classes. I’ve had some homework to complete before the course starts (see my post here) so the work has already started!
The first weekend involves going through our vision boards, an introduction to yoga and the poses and finally a teaching practice session for the first few poses! I’ve been practising the dialogue for these but I’m still really nervous! I’ll be blogging throughout my course with the good, the bad and the ugly! Hopefully more of the good. If you have any questions about what I’m up to, please leave a comment below or message me!
