Yoga Course: Pre-Course Tasks

Hi everyone, circling back to my yoga teacher training journey for this blog post! Now that January is underway, it’s time for me to start seriously thinking about my course which kicks off properly later this month!

Before it starts however, I’ve been given some tasks to get me started!

Task 1: Manifest Board                                                                                                                          For this, I need to create an A4/A3 board with pictures, quotes and ideas which detail all the things I want to manifest for my life. Now I’m not sure if it is just linked to my yoga journey but I’m going to think bigger and put things on for all areas of my life. I’m not the most creative person but as this is supposed to be inspirational, I’m going to try my best to make it so. Once it’s done, we take them to the first session to talk through (I imagine as an ice breaker), then put up somewhere to inspire us as we go through the  course. We must also put a copy in our journals to refer to regularly. One of the instructions given is ‘there is nothing too big or too small but to only include things that accurately represent what you really want.’

Task 2: Practice Teaching                                                                                                                      On the Sunday of our first course weekend, we are going to lead a section of teaching. For this, I’ve been given 7 poses to learn the dialogue for. I’ll be practising these over the next few weeks on Stuart (my boyfriend) and anyone else who’s willing! I’m also going to make some cue cards for the prompts so that I can learn them more easily. Any other suggestions are very welcome.

I’m so excited to get started on this journey and to document it as I go along. I’ll post a photo of my manifest board once it’s done too!
