Hello and welcome to my new blog! It’s great to have you here on my journey to becoming a Yoga Teacher!
I thought I’d start by describing my journey into yoga. I have been practising yoga for several years but I really got more serious about it around a year ago when I started a 30 day Yoga Challenge at home. It was the DoYou Yoga challenge with Jessica Rose (on Youtube) if anyone is interested. I completed each of the 30 videos every morning and by the end I was hooked.
I then enrolled on a yoga beginner’s course at my local studio where the basics were broken down and explained so I felt that I really knew what I was doing and why. We looked at sun salutations, twists, balances as well as poses for specific areas like hip openers. After the course was over, I began practising yoga several times a week both in the studio and at home.
My local ‘Hot Yoga’ studio – Sweat Studios – offers a range of classes and workshops set in a hot room so I decided to try it out. For the last 6 months, I’ve been going to Sweat a couple of times a week and loving it! It was this that led me to apply for their Yoga Teacher Training program which starts in January 2018.
In this blog, I’m hoping to share my journey, what I learn and anything else useful along the way. I hope you’ll join me 🙂
